December 2002
We are an Assemblies of God missionary family who has been living and working in the Northern (Limpopo) province of South Africa. In June 2000 we visited Acres of Love and were so impressed with the beautiful facility and attitude of everyone there. We were looking to adopt a child and God brought Samuel David into our house. Samuel was found abandoned in a hospital in Leratong, Northwest Province. He came to Acres of Love at age 5months and was only there for two weeks when we met him. He has been a constant source of love and joy for our family and he is dearly loved by all.
In January of 2001 we thought that Samuel would benefit from a sibling as our three older kids were moving out and on with life. We adopted Jessica Rose, at age 6 months. She was found in a cardboard box along the road in Naledi, a Soweto township in the Gauteng province. She had been at Acres of love since being found. She is our little lady, a ready smile and a happy addition to our family.
Thankfully both Sam and Jessica are healthy, happy and loved. We know that God will help us with all of the aspects involved in trans-racial adoption. But we loved them as our own from the start and they are a marvelous testimony.
Thank you for letting us tell our story. Thank you for having a place like Acres of Love for the children who need it.
We would love to see a home like Acres of Love established in our area. Too many babies are left on the streets and down in pit toilets.
God bless you!
