Our homes are their haven! Joy abounds at Acres of Love as we open 3 new homes over the next 3 months!

Many of the infants and children who will reside in these new homes have been placed at Acres of Love in the last couple of weeks. They will double up into existing Acres of Love Forever Homes until their new homes are ready.

We need to ‘prepare the nest’ for these vulnerable children placed in our care. Consequently, there is a buzz of excitement at Acres of Love - volunteers in Johannesburg are arriving to help, contractors are moving in and out and our team in the US and South Africa are huddled in meetings discussing each child to determine the best home and best environment relative to their health status.  One of our tasks is to meticulously plan each room in each home – the color scheme, the type of bedding (warm and cuddly), the furniture, the cutlery and crockery, the kitchen, the bathrooms, the garden. I think everyone can relate to the meticulous detail required to start a new home from scratch.
