Santa Barbara and Friends Forever Home

Dedication of Santa Barbara and Friends forever home
“Another Miracle”
by John Schuck

On July 7, 2005 another dream became reality for Acres of Love as another forever home, and it’s children, were dedicated to the Lord. The newest home, located in the upscale Blairgowrie area of Johannesburg, is known as the Santa Barbara Home and is sponsored by Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara and “Friends.”

The dedication was a truly a magnificent event. The home was beautiful, the day was gorgeous, and the six wonderful children were incredible...such peace, and so much joy could be seen in their eyes.

Three families from Santa Barbara resprensenting Calvary Chapel were in attendance...the Thomas’, the Laskin’s and the Schuck’s. Also attending the event, were founders Ryan and Gerda Audagnotti; Jeanett Ndhlovu, the South Africa’s Consulate General from Los Angeles; Gereldine Wilkins, the photojournalist from Calvary Chapel Missions Magazine; neighbors; and many of the children and staff of Acres of Love.

This ceremony began with introductions by Paul Danchik followed by a beautiful song of praise and worship by house parent, Jeanette.
On this special day both a dream had become a reality, and a new journey had begun...the long, but rewarding, journey of raising these precious little ones (ages nine months to seven years) from childhood to independence.

Santa Barbara Joins Hands With Acres Of Love To Buy A “Forever Home”

Ryan Audagnotti, founder of Acres of Love, made a presentation regarding the Acres of Love ministry in January 2004 to the Central Coast Barnabas Group. Several members, many of whom attend Calvary Chapel Santa

Barbara, were deeply moved by the plight of the abandoned and HIV/ AIDS babies of South Africa and by the incredible work that Acres of Love is doing on their behalf.
A small group of men including Rob Laskin, Erik Krueger, John Schuck, and Pastor Ricky Ryan dared to wonder if the people of Santa Barbara might join together and purchase another “Forever Home” for Acres of Love. Towards this end, Ryan and Gerda were invited on Sunday, February 29th, to present Acres of Love at the three church services at Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara. Also, that evening, a more intimate reception in the home of Erik and Cynthia Krueger was held to further expose Acres of Love to the broader Santa Barbara community. As a result, in less then eight weeks, over three hundred thousand dollars was raised to purchase and operate a “Forever Home” for three years. As well, commitments were secured that will insure it’s successful operation for many subsequent years
