Dear Acres of Love family and friends,
In the next 24 hour period, after you have read this
newsletter, 575 infants and children will lose a parent
to AIDS in South Africa! Does this statistic touch your
heart or does it overwhelm you?
If we consider that these precious children are unique
individuals with unlimited potential, then we can be
courageous and allow our hearts to be touched by
their plight!
Our assignment is simply to solve the problem for
these children. We achieve this by applying these 3
principles:
Urgency - our present focus will determine
our present feelings!
Action - compassion is love in action.
Those who move you to compassion are those to
whom you have been assigned.
Execution - requires mercy. Mercy
transcends theory.
On behalf of all the infants and children we serve,
we
take this opportunity to thank you all for your focus,
compassion and mercy.

New Christmas Angels
Just in time
Just in time for Christmas, Acres of Love has
welcomed 3 new children into our family. These
precious three are Selina, who will turn 11 on
Christmas Eve; Moses, age 6; and tiny Prudence, just
3 months old. Each brings to us their own unique
story of loss and their common need for love. We are
so thankful for the role that the Acres of Love family is
now able to play in restoring to them the childhoods
that otherwise would have been lost far too soon.
All of the new children who have been welcomed into
our Forever Homes over the course of the past year
have given us wonderful cause for celebration this
Christmas!

Samsung Donates to Acres of Love again
Thank you for your support
The Acres of Love team would like to extend our
thanks to the incredible team at Samsung in South
Africa. For the second year in a row, in addition to the
high-quality appliances and electronics that they
donate to our homes, they have decided to make a
generous contribution of support towards Acres of
Love rather than purchasing traditional Christmas
gifts for their VIP clients.
We are so grateful for their ongoing partnership in
providing so generously for our children.By following

The Lion King
Give Our Regards to Broadway
The night of November 9th was one that will live in the
memories of the Acres of Love children for a lifetime!
On that special evening, thanks to the generosity of
George & Sue Foster, 89 children and house parents
from Acres of Love attended "The Lion King", currently
touring in South Africa.
The show was perfect for our children (many already
big Simba fans!) and they were able to celebrate, with
so much pride, all that is African. The beauty, vibrancy,
rhythm and spirit of the people of South Africa were
mirrored in the performance.
That magical night is still talked about again and
again in our Forever Homes, and will be for years to
come!

ABSA is Making A Difference
Thank you for your partnership
ABSA has been a long-term partner with Acres of Love
in providing a new vehicle for each Forever Home
opened over the past two years. Recently, the local
ABSA branch managers in South Africa have taken
their commitment to our children one step further and
have begun refurbishing a number of Forever Homes,
taking children on special outings, providing new
clothing and jungle gyms, and even planning
Christmas parties with Santa as a special guest!

2007 Acres of Love Preschool Celebrates Christmas at Casalinga

Acres of Love replicates the Forever Home model program
2008
The Casalinga Forever Home is near completion and
Vodacom Foundation will be underwriting the
annual opperating budget for this home in 2008.
We are also pleased to announce that we are
planning the acquisition of the San Juan
Capistrano Forever Home and the
Ellenwood Forever home. These two forever
homes will be fully operational in the first quarter of
2008!

Dinner with a Purpose
On December 1st, 2007, more than 200 people
attended the first "
Dinner with a Solution" sponsored
by Acres of Love.
In homes across the country, our
dedicated volunteers and partners made a powerful
and positive impact in observation of World AIDS Day
by raising more than $35,000 toward the rescue and
care of AIDS orphans in South Africa.
